Born in the '90s
Hang Easy was first made in the early '90s by Gav's uncle, dad and pop. Mum was the model and the family backyard was the photo studio. It worked a treat and saved plenty of backs, but in the days of mail-order catalogues people needed to see it in action to get it. After a year or so, the business was shelved.
The family kept using theirs, though. For years.
Found in Nan and Pop's garage
Thirty years later, Gav found the last known set in Nan and Pop's garage and took it home for him and his pregnant wife. Covid had just hit and, like a lot of people, he was out of work. Hanging out the washing one day, it struck him: they were probably the only family in Australia with a Hang Easy on the line.
So he got them made again. He updated the design, made it stronger where he could, and filmed a quick video showing how it works. It got 50,000 views. A camera-shy Gav suddenly had a new job: making more videos. They've now been watched millions of times.
Smarter laundry, still in the family
In 2024 Gav added his own invention to the range: The Undie Hanger, for hanging undies and delicates without a single peg. Since then we've added the Peg Bag, Forever Pegs, The Good Stuff laundry sheets and a range of Australian-made Austral clotheslines.
Every product has the same job: make washing day quicker, easier and kinder on your back. We're still a small Aussie family business, and we read every review. We got your back.
